Our Story
The founder of the business, Laurie Williams, had a wealth of experience in the furniture trade, before forming County Headboards back in the 1990’s. Laurie then started manufacturing metal bed frames, until the explosion of inexpensive metal frames at the turn of the century from the Far East.
Quickly realising that he simply could not compete with these costs, he formed Metal Beds Ltd in 2004.
We soon became Wholesale Beds, as the range of beds supplied expanded into faux leather and wood.
In 2018, Laurie decided to take a well earnt retirement, and sold the business to 2 existing members of staff – Paul Sproston & Calvin Fullwood.
Paul had already worked for Wholesale Beds for over 10 years, so he already knew the business inside & out.
Calvin had nearly 30 years experience in retail, so brought new ideas to the business which has helped introduce new products relevant to today’s market.
Wholesale Beds are now one of the UK’s leading Trade Only suppliers of metal, wooden, faux leather and fabric bed frames. We can also supply both domestic & contract mattresses, as well as a range of contract furniture.
We can supply anything from 1 bed frame to a full 40 foot container.
The specification of our products is well above average but our prices don’t reflect this. Having been a manufacturer gives an insight into what works and why.
We just don’t accept what is offered to us – we tell the manufacturer what specification is required – and this is what sets us apart from most bed frame suppliers in the UK.
Customer Help
To help our bedroom store & internet customers, all of the packaging we use does not bear any reference to where you have purchased the bed frame from. All of our brochures (both standard & contract) have only codes in the brochures, again with no reference to Wholesale Beds. This allows you to call the bed whatever you wish to, and reduce the possibility of your customers searching this bed frame and obtaining it elsewhere.
We are fully focused on the bed industry and are constantly bringing new ideas to market. To this end we carry vast stocks which are constantly updated and backed by a speedy delivery service.
Delivery
We offer a delivery service direct to your store or warehouse on a weekly or fortnightly basis (4 weekly in Scotland) using our own transport.
Our drop shipping service is unique as we take full responsibility once you have given us an order. We deal with any problem that might arise during the delivery process and see the job through to the end.
Our 1 to 2 day courier service (dependent on area) covers all of England & Wales Mainland, and most of Scotland (please ask for details before ordering). All of our orders are fully trackable by us or your customer (providing you supply us their email address), and we have a dedicated team to follow the process through from start to finish.
Please note that all orders received before 12.00pm (11.00am on a Friday) will be despatched the same working day if in stock. We recommend that you offer your customers a 1 to 2 day delivery service; the vast majority of orders do arrive the next working day, but due to problems that may occur with couriers this cannot be guaranteed.
